‘Have you created a pay log?’ possibly the most dreaded question for a new recruit once they realise what creating said pay log entails. A trip to the KoH General Forums, so what’s the hype about this forum is it any good? Is it bad? how can we make it better? First of all, what exactly is a forum? The Oxford Dictionary says that it is ‘a meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged’. So how does this apply to the general forums? In theory, then our forum is a place where we can exchange views on issues. Whilst writing this, I navigated through the forum website. In my eyes, the fundamental purpose of the forums is to log in base activities, enabling an audit if it is required. What’s great about the site is it is fairly easy to navigate through all relevant tabs. In terms of auditing the site, it is easy enough to track things and a clean trail can be followed by each user, so if an error is made its easier to sort it. A feature of the forums that is undervalued are the socialising tools we have on forums. Whilst all social media is promoted heavily on the site and in the base, forum games and general spam strands don’t receive similar hype. Whilst talking to the Heiress and Princess of Habbo about what they felt was good on the forums they both agreed, yes, all logs are fab, however, they would like the forums to be used for newer members to introduce themselves and get involved. From a personal standpoint, I have only ever used the forums to log promos and training. I have not used the socialising tools. If there are improvements to be made, it would be to make the site less intimidating and have more emphasis put on having fun, as people forget the Habbo is all about fun. I will post on the forum in the hello section…say hi, drop a post? Let’s enjoy this thing.
