Strangers to Friends

It was a day of reflection at the kingdom, and one member is particularly inclined to tell her story. As a group of friends sit together at FTF, welcoming new members, she is reminded of her own experience as a newcomer to the kingdom, and the fear that had filled her heart when she had met the people she had grown to know and love.

"On my first day of KoH, I walked into the room, unbeknowst that I was about to be plunged into a great adventure! It was a summer's day, and I knew I should be outside playing with my friends. But the intrigue of the castle walls drew me closer, and I couldn't help but want to get to know this place. It was a place shrouded with magic; a spell was cast over it that made one feel all tingly inside, like a shaken bottle of a fizzy drink. Opening the mammoth oak doors, I had found myself stood on the doorstep of one of the greatest rulers of all time.

There were many people at the front desk, all with different looks. Some had dark hair, others light, some had crazy outfits whereas others wore uniforms, and there was even the odd afro here and there! The most overwhelming thing was the way they all jumped on me, like they'd never seen another pixel being before. Flooded with waves of welcome messages, I was almost knocked out by the force of the welcome. I timidly stepped into the lobby, wondering if these welcomes were meant for me. One voice in particular popped up; a guy with a huge smile on his face spoke to me. 'Can I help you?' he asked cheerily, and I wanted to run and hide because nobody on Habbo had been as kind to ask if I needed help! I was so relieved to find someone who actually cared.

Stepping up onto the rollers, I smiled at the stranger. There was one question I had to get off my chest. What is this place? The answer I got was one of shock. 'You've never heard of the Kingdom of Habbo before?' He asked, his eyes wide. Shaking my head with a no, he suddenly looked very determined. 'This,' he began, 'is one of the best agencies out there! You can earn daily pay, but more importantly, we're all family here!'

I was beginning to get excited. This place was already proving to be super cool! As I was being told about BAM and how I needed to put on the badge, motto and uniform, I watched a member do an interactive announcement. It looked so fun! Everyone had was laughing along with each other. I decided, at that moment, that I wanted in on that. I was more than eager to join up then!

Training proved to be difficult. It took a very patient, lovely trainer to assist me. I was so slow to do the test that at one point I thought they might disconnect from me! But no, these people were the kindest I had ever met. I was making friends left right and centre, and as I moved on to a new person in the welcome station, I was not afraid that they too would be amazingly friendly. I wasn't wrong!

From being fearful to being friends, these people's kindest was enough for me to want to stick around. I think that's what's beautiful about the KoH... we're not just a group who want to get paid, we're family, and family means nobody gets left behind!"

The girl's friends all clapped, loving the story she had told. It was true, they had to agree. KoH meant something special to each of them individually. Each had their friends, their memories, and a legacy at the kingdom. Could they ask for anything more?
