“Three months ago, in a place called Habbo joined another pixel girl named samara5955 joined. She was total newbie. She didn’t know where to go and stumbled to a place called Kingdom of Habbo.”

Hello Reader.

As you might have already guessed from the title, this article will be a story of me. It all started on 26th October, 2016…

*flash back*

I was really bored as my Semester break was going on. It suddenly struck me, “There was a placed called Habbo which I joined 8 years back. I must go and check it out”. I like experimenting and trying new things. So I thought giving a comeback to kill time would be a great idea. Things had changed a lot in those years. I couldn’t understand which is what. And the funniest part was all the English Lingo used by the people seemed alien to me. I tried talking to people, but majority of them were inappropriate. I was having second thoughts on why did I even come back. Going back to The Big Bang Theory would have been a better. But then someone from SS asked me to join them for pay. It seemed fancy and gave it a shot. But I don’t know why, it didn’t give me good vibe while I was in training. I clicked on “somewhere new” to escape it. It took me to Kingdom of Habbo. I literally had no clue what place this was. And I didn’t know what these “coins” everyone talks about are.

As I stepped inside, I didn’t know where to go or whom to be friends with. That’s when I met Peasant (the Bot). He showed me how to step on the rollers. Since then we have been BFFs. I was told to put on the Halloween themed uniform, followed by badge and motto (which I had no idea how to locate). I completed my training with my trainer dolphinlover and then safia149 welcomed me. I logged off for that day.

I came back the day after. I tried several public rooms but in vain. I somehow found KoH, which I had joined earlier. I stood on the rollers awkwardly, trying to figure out what to say so that people at FTF will let me in. Fortunately, seeing my BAM, the member just welcomed me back and my efforts were saved (pheww!). Another problem aroused then after. I forgot my Kingdom ID. Blame it on my bad memory, I have always been bad with numbers and names. I panicked that I’m gonna be yelled at. Nothing that sort ever happened. The member at FTS gave me my ID and informed me to create a paylog so that I can start getting paid. I went to FTHD for assistance and then got over with that part.

I knew were to sit and were not to, but then I forgot what needs to be done at FTF. So, I just sat there like a potato. That’s when someone assisted me on what needs to be done. I started sending out welcome messages. I sat there quietly, avoiding any human interaction. But then someone started interacting with me. I felt better about being there. After few days I started initiating conversations and more people started interacting with me. KoH was warm and friendly to me. As I started spending more time there, without even realising it had become my extended family. I was way beyond my comfort zone and it felt right. Slowly I started picking up about everything. Got promotions, earned paypoints, participated in theme days and trivia, trained for FTS and FTT and joined kik as well.

You might be thinking “woah! What a noob”. Well, that’s me and it’s completely based on true story. MY STORY! :D

*back to present*

The journey from a Peasant to here has been really long. But it was worth it. I had never planned on being a part of KoH. It just happened to me. And I always feel like I’m still that newly joined Peasant at heart. That’s the reason why you will see me wearing uniform half of the time. It’s nice sticking to the roots.

KoH has taught me innumerable things. From getting out of my comfort zone to meeting new people every day. The best one is how to deal with trolls and still being respectful, without losing my head. Not to forget, I have also now excelled in multi-tasking and managing time. I also happen to have joined couple of teams which I had never known existed back then. And trust me when I say this, KoH teams are the best. The leadership ability they teach, the team work we put in, and the communication which brings us closer. Everything about it is so mind blowing. You will not even realise where you gained all those qualities from, because it’s super fun. When you are supposed to work as team irl, these qualities help a lot. Whenever you see any vacancy in teams, never ever miss out on the opportunity.

(I will push little reminder here: The Royal Awards is on 29th January at 9PM GMT. Save your date)

The members of KoH are known for being fun and friendly. The only objective which I have been working on and will work on in the future is so take this culture further. Let no one in the base have a hard time when they interact with you. We must always give everyone a reason to come back again and again. Making KoH a better and safe place to interact with everyone should be number #1 on your priority list. I also like to be able to connect more with people. It’s always a good idea to learn ways in which you can better relate and get along with others.

Success doesn’t comes to you, YOU GO TO IT. Sitting back and just chilling will not really help if you want to rank up. You have to start getting more involved in the base. Be more active at multiple stations. Be helpful and volunteer whenever possible. Most importantly be you. In case you want to change, change for good. It worked for me, for sure it will work for you. You can start with little gesture like welcoming members individually with their first names. Seems likes a small thing, but does a huge impact.

Now you know my journey pretty well. Even I would love to know about you a little more. Do write a bit about yourself and your journey at KoH, if not already done. You can do that on the general forums, under the topic Biographies. I will surely read them.
