New Base
Take a look around the base. What do you see? Stairs are gone? Less iL seats in FTF? Does everything look new to you? If so, enjoy working at KoH because you are probably going to occupy FTF, FTS, FTT, FTWS, FTTD and FTHD, for a longer period. Positions keep changing and members are changing too – so the base also needs to change to keep up.
The old base is a blur to me after 3 weeks. I am so used to this cool new base that I got over the changes pretty quickly (Dear Peasant, you will be missed). Our old base served us well and I made great memories there (pretty sure, you did too), but I couldn’t be more excited about the new base.
We were all moved to a different base few hours before the change was going to happen. It felt little weird working in an unfamiliar back up base while all of the furniture/wall/styling details were redecorated. I wished those decisions could have been made in a fraction of a second. But, man, are they the ones you really want to think of and love? The answer is obviously yes.
I, as usual, was getting bored during lectures the day after.
*ting* I got a kik notification:
“The new base is ready. Do give it a visit!” it said.
I hurried back to the room the moment lectures got over.
As I entered the brand new base, it’s was like they say in movies “Something old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Red”. A change like this doesn’t happen very often. “Its soooo pretty. But I need a tour of the Kingdom” that was the first thing I said when I stepped in. KoH-ians gave me a warm welcome as they always do.
I had puzzled where everything was so much so that I directly went to the Royal Guest gate. Because well, girls are always right, and I was attracted by the big black giant piano. Then I took a U-turn and straight to the other gate (correct one this time). It was all different and beautiful.
Christmas time gives a genuinely unforgettable and unique impression that everyone senses in the depths of their heart. KoH chose just the right moment to redecorate the entire base. The Joyful Giant Christmas-tree decorations and sparkling lightings, underneath boxes with presents, magic of togetherness and Christmas special food – all made a magical celebration atmosphere while indulging all the members and visitors. Jingle bells were magically ringing while miraculous reindeers were dashing through the snow.
Walking along the same lines, SS and AHC have recently redecorated their base as well. I like how there is a waterfall near the mannequin is SS. I like how there is a separate place for recreation, where the main attraction is Mike (the bot who serves drinks). AHC had this executive skyline which looked really funny. I also happened to visit HIA. I liked how all there agency flags where together in one place. However, DCI I felt has the coolest base (after KoH, ofc!) They have little party bar & treadmill for some reason. After so much of agency hopping, a little teeny tiny change we can bring about in KoH would be to display the mannequin a bit more evidently, so that it is can be easily spotted when a new recruit comes. We can also display all the division and team badges in pennant. This will give a pictorial view of how many divisions are and how different teams work towards being the backbone of KoH.
It has been an exciting two months for me here, and I look at this new base as the start of another chapter full of excitement. It just got BIGGER and BETTER. A big shout out to everyone who was behind it, especially Bri and Sharon.
(Pssstt... There is a secret hiding place near the entrance in case you haven’t discovered it yet *wink wink*)
