Reaching for iL
Hello and welcome back to TKC! This week we took a look at our Royal Officials of the Kingdom, and their goals, as they reach for iL!
Our three interviewees were; Lima9 and loveofthee3, of the Wizard division, and Maheenk, in Kingdom Masters.
1. Is becoming an iL a goal for you, and why so?
I would have to say ‘not really’ as the aim itself is really high. I had fantasies about it when I was once told I had the potential to become one by a Kohian. However when I really think about, I just want to take small steps and not pressure myself. My aims however are to get to Higher Divisions so that I can promote more deserving Kohians. As I am in the Wizard division, I can only promote Peasantry and Trade Workers division. There were times when I wanted to promote a hard worker only to realize they were in Castle Division. So I would like to be able to promote more diligent Kohians as I climb up the ranks ^-^
Becoming an iL is a huge goal for me because it means my hard work has payed off. It also allows me to be more involved within the kingdom and help others achieve their goals.
iL used to be a goal for me, because I loved being a part of helping KoH and helping others. If it is possible to get iL again on mobile then I'd love iL again.
2. How active are you in base?
Being an active member is a desirable quality in KoH. As I do not like to raise other’s expectations unnecessarily, can I say I am not active? Joke aside, I feel this is question about me being active should be answered by others instead. This is because their words will probably have more credibility than mine.
I'm very active within base. I spend as many hours as I can working for KoH in and out of base.
In base, I'm pretty active, about 3 hours on weekdays and much more on weekends.
3. Are you in any teams, and do you think this could affect you becoming an iL?
I am in the Recruitment Team (RT). I was told to join one as it is a pathway that leads to being an iL. However the reason why I join, was actually because I was suggested by some Kohians to join. And when someone asked me directly whether I would be interested, I said yes. One of the things being in RT taught me would be some things you do for others can sometimes be a thankless job. For example when you are in RT recruiting from the outside, no one will know other then your superiors and colleagues. No one knows about the rejection you face and the treatment you endure given by other Habbos. You don’t get a reward for it. But you still do it because you want others to know how great KoH really is and for KoH itself. This translates well with some tasks done by iLs. iLs sometimes have to work hard behind the scenes, yet no one else knows about it except those within the same circle. It may even come to the point where they don’t have much time to interact with other members.
I'm in three teams at the moment, though I want to join more. I'm currently in TKC as a Reporter, LU as a Tag Logger, and one of the two Co-Leads for RT. I definitely think that teams help with getting closer to becoming an iL. They can show your talents in ways that couldn't be shown before without the help of joining teams.
I am in the Transfer Unit, Internal Affairs, and Department of Justice! Every team is one step towards iL! Team participation helps everyone get noticed more easily.
4. Do you have an iL role model who you are close to?
I don’t exactly have a role model. I mean I can learn from anyone in base. And I try to listen to feedback if someone would give me. But I do meet Safia in base often as we have the same time zone ^-^ She is really nice and pleasant. I notice she would whisper when lecturing others and try not to embarrass the others. She would also greet the higher ranks as Madam or Sir. She gives off a feeling of a guardian in base.
In my opinion, all the iLs are role models for me in different ways. I'm close to all of them and like to talk to them about anything, including advice or help I may need. They're always there for me, and want to help me succeed, which I am very grateful for.
I have had many iL role models who I was close to, but sadly they all went to Kingdom Advisors. They are: TwilightTigris, _Thea_, and liale06.
5. Do you have any plans if you did become iL?
Have a forum where every iLs and HRs would note down what they expect of a member in order to earn pay points and promotions. Because some of the new recruits are in the dark about this. More over the term ‘hardworking’ and ‘deserving’ can be subjective. So having iLs and HRs note down their definition of ‘wanted KoH qualities’ will shed some light on this.
At the moment, I don't really have any solid plans if I become iL. However, I know I want to be kind and fair to everyone, no matter what rank. I would also like to be trusted with all members and with difficult tasks.
If I DID become iL, my only plan is to make the Kingdom a great place as it already is and to help others! :]
I would like to thank my interviewees, it was very interesting learning about their plans and goals of possible iL status. Thanks for reading, and have a great week!
