Anyone that comes into the Kingdom of Habbo on a regular basis will have experienced at least one of our many games or theme days. Events, both games and themes make KoH a better and more enjoyable place to spend our time. So, let’s look into these in more detail shall we?
The KoH games happen on 2-3 days each week I believe this is a good amount of time playing these games as it doesn’t put too much pressure on the host by only giving them 2 games to host each month, in addition to this the games are just frequent enough so that everyone can participate in most of them and to keep the base lively and fun, too!
As a member of the games division of the events team myself, I can give you a real insight into the workings behind each game we play. At the end of each month we all send in 5 suggestions for games to happen the next month. When all of the games are collected we vote for 10 games to play. The 8-10 most popular games will then be put on the calendar and we choose what we would like to host. The games range wildly; one day we could have a reverse cozzie change (to ensure the LRs and those without HC have an equal chance of winning because they don’t have to change their clothes) and the next may be some sort of specialised trivia. The games in base a lot of fun to host and a LOT of fun to play!
The only thing I could possibly want more from in regards to games would be that I think we should have more games hosted in the KoH event room – possibly involving members of the public and not just KoH members. Having regular games in this room may attract the people who spend their time on habbo cruising events rooms to KoH and so introducing more members to our great kingdom. I would also love to see the return of the regular kik GC Trivia game. For those who don’t know what this was, this is a quiz held on kik within the General Chats. It was hosted by Maheen and was a lot of fun! There were questions asked (tricky ones) around a topic chosen by last time’s winner. A specific format was given for the answers and the first to send back all the correct answers won! It was hosted when we still had races at KoH (still rooting for team ELF) and the winner won race points but I’m sure this could be substituted for a Pay Point.
Like the games, the theme days occur 2-3 days out of every week bringing us all together, lower ranks, higher ranks and of course the iLs. Although the themes and games are different entities I believe that we can, on some days, fit them together. For example I believe it would be fun to have a Harry Potter theme day and Harry Potter trivia on the same day – linking the two. This would require the theme and games divisions of the events team working together to come up with these. As it stands, each month, the theme division of the events team come together to decide on what the themes will be planned for the month ahead. These are then put on the calendar for every member to see. The theme will be announced each theme day and all members are encouraged to take part (though obviously the costumes must still be in-keeping with the attire policy – LRs still need to wear uniform but can wear hats/change skin tone etc). Each day the events team members take screenshots of each outfit and share them on kik. A vote is then held as to whose outfit is best for each rank group – LRs, HRs and iLs. The winner in each group is then announced in base and in the General Chats on kik and we celebrate together!
The wonderful range of themes each month makes taking part a really exciting and enjoyable thing to do! To give you an example of this range, this month we have had/are looking forward to Day of the Dead, Pajama Day, Winnie the Pooh Day, Old-Fashioned Day, Animal Day, Season Day, Mickey Mouse Day, Gender Swap Day, Beard Day, Food Day and Winter Fashon! Whew! What a commotion getting all those costumes ready, right? Not always! What I tend to do to (try to) find the most accurate and impressive costume is with the use the abundance of pictures found on google images. I tend to work from the top (hair/hats/head accessories) and work down tweaking when needed. There aren’t really any real ‘tips or tricks’ in regards to dressing up for the theme days just get creative and most importantly – HAVE FUN!
