To Be Thankful

Holidays are a time to spread a lot of cheer

There is laughter and joy and not a single tear

Halloween is quite spooky, Christmas is really fun

but out of them all, Thanksgiving is the best one

On Thanksgiving, all of the members get together

No matter what happens, no matter the weather

Everyone gathers inside in the big meeting hall

There’s a great feast - enough room for one and all

As everyone takes a seat, we each take our turn

“What are you thankful for? For what do you yearn?”

Some are thankful for money, some like their things

Some are happy to be here, for KoH gives them wings

We have a moment of silence and say a bit of grace

Then we grab our forks and begin to stuff our face

We eat and eat and eat till our bellies begin to ache

We eat so much food we can hardly stay awake

Then one by one, each member drifts off to sleep

All these thankful hearts, it makes you want to weep

Inside their dreams, the thoughts of sugar plums dance

All these warm, soft feelings can feel like a trance

At last, the Queen walks by - blankets in her arms

She covers each member and turns off all alarms

For now, I will let them sleep. They work so hard, I see.

I am thankful for my people. Without them, where would I be?
