An Unexpected Promotion
by safia149
Today was my first day here in KoH, and my rank was a Peasant. I don’t know why, but I went along with it. As I observed the people here in this room, they all seemed to be very close to one another, like a ‘family’. At first I wasn’t really that active much and only spent an hour in the room, because I mostly play games in Habbo to get credits. Whenever there’s a member that comes in the room, everyone greets that person warmly, whether you’re an LR (Low rank) or an HR (High rank). And I thought, the people are here are really sweet and nice. There was one day where I decided to just stay in KoH for a whole day, because I was not really in the mood to play games in Habbo, so I just decided to work in the agency I applied. And when I came in, everybody greeted me with warm welcomes.
“Welcome back Sheilla! ♡ ♡ ♡”
“ wb Sheilla♡”
It was really nice and I really felt very welcomed. This group is the most hospitable group here in Habbo and I’m so glad I joined here.
I got promoted every 30 minutes because I had stayed in the base for very long hours and had recruited many people too, and I realized that it was really fun working here and recruiting new members here in KoH. I got to have a lot of new wonderful friends, we chatted as we worked and had a lot of bonding moments. Every day after school, I always log in my account on Habbo and am very excited to work and chat with my friends again in KoH. I was curious about my friends, so as I looked at their profiles. They all have very fancy rank titles: Warlord, Wizard, Shadow. I got curious as to what those are, so I went to the website of KoH, and went to the rank list and found hundreds of ranks in there. I was in awe... I looked at where my rank is. I laughed at myself - I still a have a long way to go.
I got addicted to KoH, and I still go there to work almost every day.
----
After three days in KoH, I got promoted to Security or FTS, and then FTT, and then it continued up through to different divisions. Days passed by and I had spent a lot of time here in KoH, I got to have some iL friends too! If you are wondering what is an iL? It means in Line and they are the leaders here in KoH. They are very cool and approachable; they observe and control the situations here and they have the leadership skills that the kingdom needs. They are mostly the ones who handle the trolls that disturb the kingdom and I had always wondered: how they were able to handle a lot of responsibilities and stress when dealing with trolls? It must be really hard being an iL.
After three months here in KoHm I got the rank of Apprentice Priest. I am now able to train people for Trades and Castle Worker!
As I was filling the front, one of the founders of KoH came in, and everyone including me, greeted her with respect. I was sending a new recruit to the security for her training when the founder stand behind my back and said.
“sheilla123 ATT!”
I was in awe, the founder ATTed me, I was really nervous too. Did I do something wrong? Am I gonna get fired? Many things were running in my mind!
I faced her, waved and said “Yes Ma’am!”
“I have been impressed with your outstanding efforts you are showing here”
Oh, phew, I’m not gonna get fired.
“And for that you have been promoted to 5iL. Congratulations!”
My eyes went wide and my jaw dropped to the ground.
Everybody congratulated me, cheering!
“Congrats!”
“Yay :D”
“Good job Sheilla! ♡”
What? iL? How? Why?
I was shocked, experiencing so many different mixed feelings, and I didn't know how to deal with it.
Shocked, happy, nervous... I never expected this to happen so suddenly!
“Please request the 5iL badge and come follow me to the help desk.”
“Yes ma’am,” I replied.
And I went to the help desk
She helped me prepare and introduced me to my duties as an iL member.
As I was being given an instruction, I thought, am I qualified to become an iL? Can I do this? Am I strong enough? Many doubtful questions were running in my head, afraid that I might fail the people who expect so much from me.
This is my problem, I thought. I lack self-confidence. Something that I believe being an iL should have.
I logged into habbo again and went to KoH and I was greeted warmly by my good friends.
“Congrats again Sheilla!”
“Thank you so much again guys..”
Then I see the avatar of the girl I really admire, her name is Betty. She is confident, smart, witty and has good leadership skills... something that I lacked, and I thought, she would be a better iL than I am. I really admire her.
She suddenly faced me and waved “Congrats on being iL - you deserve it!”
“Thank you Betty…”
It was in the afternoon, and it was just me and an LR member filling the base. At that time, it was the slow hours of KoH, because most members are probably asleep or at school.
We were both silent and the only thing that keeps the base alive is our welcome messages. To make things less awkward, I talked to her.
“Hi there.”
She replied, “Hiii.”
“How are you?”
“I'm good, how about you?”
“I'm good too! Thanks for asking”
We both became a little closer and we enjoying chatting with each other. Her name was Lea and she was very nice. We were discussin a handsome actor, when suddenly a person came in the base and started dancing and spamming.
Lea immediately reacted, “Sir, please don’t troll here.”
The troll replied, “Shut up bobba!”
I jumped in the situation and tried to stop the troll, “Sir, please stop trolling or you will be muted."
And as expected, he ignored me and continued playing around.
“I can call an RR and let them ban you if you continue doing this, sir” I warned him.
He suddenly stopped and replied “shut up bobba” and went poof.
“Seriously, why do people troll?”
I replied to her, “For fun, I guess?”
“You were really calm when you were handling the troll.”
“I’m kinda used to them.”
“You know, I have been observing you, and you are really working hard. Congrats on being iL!”
Now that an LR had said it, I realized something. I became an iL for them, to help them in their journey and support them during hard times. Being an iL means becoming a good role model to the new members, and support them. Help them develop from their success and make sure that the kingdom runs smoothly. And I was given the opportunity to become an iL to be able to do that. And I should accept it wholeheartedly.
There will be many trials and problems that I may encounter in the future as an iL, but with the support from my friends I know I can do it, I have to... for them.
With a newfound confidence, I smiled: “I look forward working with you Lea!”
