The Kingdom in Reality

The Kingdom of Habbo may seem ‘virtual’ and confined to the box which we call, the internet.

But what if we took the Eros Statue from pixels to stone, and made him a landmark, as tall as the Statue of Liberty. Bringing thousands of people every day to see the God of Love.

Or pull the Prime Minister and the Baroness from their mechanical conversations and make them hit sensations! The Prime Minster and The Baroness, the world’s first Robot Comedians. They would be sure to make headlines on every newspaper.

If only we could reach to that extent. We could have our own castle! And our own manually controlled network of switches, like the ones at FTF.

But of course, if such a place existed like that, we’d know about it. Right?

The drawbridge lowered onto the soil on the other side of the moat, a broad snake of water that rapped around the castle.

Horses thudded across, their riders chanting at their latest success.

They galloped up to the open gates of the Kingdom, past the fairy statue and trees that stood in between the castle walls and the deep water.

The elves whooped and cheered as the riders trotted into the Kingdom, the fairies fluttered around them, showering the horses’ tails with pixie dust.

The external affairs team had returned with news of the Alliance. And every race was gathered at the stations to hear the stories that the external affairs team had to share about the human agencies.

But as much as everyone enjoyed the time they spent sharing and admiring these heroic tales, there were always a few problems that weren’t so easy to distinguish.

Vampires found it hard to share a working space with humans, as their thirst for blood was no story.

Werewolves and Vampires held an ancient rivalry, both of them swearing to be the stronger of each.

Mermaids found it hard to navigate around the Kingdom, as they had no legs and couldn’t get involved in the sports and events that took place.

The Fairies were small and delicate, but even being the most optimistic race, they too had hard times.

Keeping these six, very different and very loud, Races together was a very big job. And it was not an easy one at all.

So maybe, a Kingdom in real life, might not be that amazing of an idea after all. With all the rules and all the different ranks our community has grown to love, putting them into a real life situation would be very difficult.

And on that note, that’s why we have to cherish what we have here! Even though we’re confined to words and avatars on screens, we are united. Would humans and vampires be able to live together so harmoniously in real life? Would mermaids be able to strut the catwalk and take home first place? And would we all be able to gather for a friendly game of footy?

I guess that’s why we love KoH. Even if it’s not reality, it’s our own little reality.
